Electric air racing came to Springfield, Ohio on Saturday 17 October. The Great American Electric Air Race was staged at the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence (NAAMCE), and the Springfield News-Sun reported from Springfield-Beckley Airport on race morning.

The organisers billed it as seven pilots, three aircraft and one champion, with the pilots sharing three all-electric BlackFly vertical take-off and landing aircraft. Entry was free and open to the public, with exhibition flying through the day.

Pilots were scored across three challenges. Bull’s Eye Bash was a precision landing, measured in inches from the centre of the target. Circuit Dash was a timed lap that also scored motor temperature on landing. Milk Run paired pilots up to fly the circuit in turn and combine their times.

This was not an Airspeeder event. Results were released on 26 October: Dave Cook was crowned Grand Champion.
